THE OPERATIONS BUILDING RE-VISITED

NOTE: Whether you knew it as the Operations Building, the Security Compound, the Compound, or simply the Pound, whatever you called it, this was the center-piece of Iraklion Air Station. The work carried out in the Operations Building was the primary purpose and focus of the mission of the 6931st. Security Group and Iraklion Air Station.

Excellent job with the camera Bob. Even though it now looks like a ghost town, those pics really stirred up alot of memories and helped me recall some things I thought I'd forgotten. What a great gift after 32 years. Yet somehow it seems like yesterday.

I remember walking down that very hallway to the operations room. Working all those shifts (those awful mids); getting off at 7:00am and being too tired and too hungry to know which one to satisfy first. Finally, being off for 4 days after a complete cycle and way too busy to catch up on my sleep.
